Affordable Housing Practice Note 2018
New guidance for developers and housebuilders working in the inner west and east parts of the city has been agreed by Bristol City Council’s Cabinet on Tuesday 6 March in a bid to help increase affordable housing in Bristol.
A new fast track arrangement is being adopted for development which provides 20% of affordable housing and which commences within 18 months of planning permission being given. The developer is also exempted from providing viability information. This applies to residential development in Inner East and Inner West areas.
Bristol Arena: Temple Meads or Filton?
Petitions to keep the proposed Arena on the site next to Temple Meads Station rather than in South Gloucestershire on the Filton Airport site have been launched.
CIL committees and decisions
The Cabinet Decision on ‘Transformation of Neighbourhood Working’ in December 2017 was to allocate CIL through 6 area committees
A further paper is to be presented at the Full Council meeting on 20th March which should set out the process for CIL consultation and decision making.
