BCC were asked what the total number of existing dwellings is in Bristol … difficult to be accurate and up to date .. but from the ONS 2011 Census the figure recorded as Total number of dwellings in Bristol was 188,438.
It was a very good discussion and a lot of relevant points about impact of increased housing supply on provision of eg doctors’ surgeries, loss of retail and employment accommodation. It is important that these sort of points are made to the consultation, if we want them to take them into account when drawing up the strategy.
