In Conservation areas, Bristol City Council advises that planning applications have to be submitted to change windows from wood to uPVC, particularly for the street frontages of buildings. This is something that the local groups support because the uPVC window replacements adversely affect the appearance of buildings. This case is a useful precedent to quote to oppose future applications and appeals against enforcement cases.
