A case where the applicant was applying to change the use of a shop to a residential use in Lawrence Hill, Bristol went to appeal .

The inspector decided that, despite the fact that the applicant had attempted to market the site for 4 years without success, it would be short-sighted to allow residential use at ground floor in a retail area.

This is a very useful precedent for anyone fighting loss of retail use in their area.
