Disability Rights Convention is a treaty of the United Nations human rights framework. The UK ratified the convention in July 2009.
The Environmental Access Standards set standards for parking, and access routes to and within buildings, design standards of areas and rooms inside buildings, surfaces, signage and equipment standards.
It also sets open space standards which apply to public realm eg spaces round buildings and parks and green spaces.
