Community Asset Transfer (‘CAT’) relates to council-owned land/buildings and involves the use of the asset by voluntary/community organisations at a reduced or nil rent.

Full details can be found in BCCs CAT Policy – see:  www.bristol.gov.uk/cat

If the building has a “.. precarious future” because it is under threat through being sold, or from potential development, perhaps nominating it as an Asset of Community Value could give the local community an opportunity to bid for it or influence its future use.

Full details can be found at:  www.bristol.gov.uk/crtb
