Sustainable Redland

Our group started in 2005, and one of our first aims was to get better informed. This has made us realise that much of what you read and hear in the news is misleading, confusing and incomplete. The damage that humans are causing to the earth and its ecosystems is real, serious, potentially irreversible. The things that humans depend on - a livable climate, fertile soil, fresh water, and plants and animals - won’t be around forever unless we take care of them. If everyone was aware of the real urgency of these problems, and of our power to solve them, then real change would happen. Our experience is that changes that lessen your ‘footprint’ actually make life better not worse. Sustainable Redland is one of many local groups working to reduce Bristol’s environmental impact and our dependence on cheap oil.

We are part of Transition Bristol and the Transition Towns Network.
