Shirehampton Community Action Forum (SCAF)

SCAF is a small, grass-roots community organisation working in Shirehampton, North West Bristol within the Avonmouth ward, within a clearly defined geographical area with approx. 6,800 residents. Shirehampton is on the outskirts of Bristol, approx 5 miles from the city centre, is semi-rural and does not benefit from many of the facilities and resources afforded to more central neighbourhoods.

We are a not for profit Company Limited by Guarantee & Registered Charity. We have 1 part time worker, Ash Bearman our Community Development Officer who manages SCAF on a day to day basis. The organisation is governed by a Board of Trustees, all of whom are local people.

The current Action Groups are:

Through the action groups work, SCAF has established very successful working partnership with over 50 organisations & groups including, The Police, 9 departments of Bristol City Council, community groups, voluntary sector organisations, private enterprises, churches, schools, Tenants Associations and individuals from our community.
