Current Bristol Planning PolicyPlanning Applications are currently assessed under the 1997 Bristol Adopted Local Plan. A new planning system started when the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 was passed. As a result of this, since August 2004, Bristol City Council, as the Local Planning Authority, has been drawing up and consulting on the new Local Development Framework (LDF) which will replace the 1997 Adopted Local Plan when it is finally complete.
