Conservation Area Consent applications

posted 11 Sep 2012 10:32 by Alison Bromilow
Just a reminder that just because an application site is in a Conservation Area, does not mean that every planning application needs to have an accompanying Conservation Area Consent.   There is guidance on the Planning Portal web pages, but briefly, Conservation Area Consent is generally only needed for the demolition of unlisted buildings in a Conservation Area. with a volume  of more than 115 cubic metres and size (about the size of a double garage) and also applies to walls abutting a highway which are above 1 metre in height and 2 metres elsewhere.
