Bristol Friends of the Earth

Bristol Friends of the Earth are often contacted by individuals who ask advice on planning matters where there are concerns about the environment. We support BNPN's focus on an effective Statement of Community Involvement so that a more transparent, accountable planning system is made accessible to the public, and welcome the notion of involvement at early stages.

We believe planning (including transport) policy in future must include effective measures to facilitate tackling the causes of global warming, and we've responded with this in mind as the overarching concern to Core Strategy consultations within Bristol City Council and more recently North Somerset County Council.

Bristol FOE believes that planning, land use and transport are related issues and works with other local groups on campaigns in these areas.
