Local Developmt Framework

The Bristol Development Framework sets out the strategy for development in Bristol up to 2026. It will guide future development decisions through the planning applications process.

See BCC website for links to all documents in the BDF.

The Core Strategy is the overall approach for planning development in Bristol.

All other planning policies must be written to fit in with the strategy.

The Core Strategy for the Bristol Development Framework (BDF) was adopted in June 2011.

Some of the policies under the 1997 Bristol Local Plan are still relevant when planning applications are considered. See the attachment below for a list of 'saved policies'.

An accompanying document called the Infrastructure Delivery Programme identifies a number of developments which are expected to take place over the next 20 years. This was published in 2010.

Consultation continues on the next stages of the Local Development Framework documents.
