   September 2010 update:

Central Area Action Plan.

As part of the process of developing a Bristol Central Area Action Plan, BCC have been running an online consultation seeking ideas about how Bristol’s Central Area could be improved.

This is not a formal, statutory stage of consultation; it is, however, a good opportunity to share your views and to see what other stakeholders have said. The ideas BCC receive will help to shape the Area Action Plan.

The present consultation follows an earlier consultation, “Cherish and Change”, which helped the council to identify the issues and challenges facing the central area. Having identified the issues and challenges, they would now like to hear your ideas for developments and other changes that would make central Bristol a better place. Good ideas don’t have to be redevelopment on a grand scale, as relatively minor changes in key locations can make a big difference; they would therefore welcome considered suggestions both large and small, along with any thoughts you might have on who might be involved in delivering your idea and how it might be achieved.

New ideas submitted via this web site will be checked by council staff before they are posted. This is to ensure that no inappropriate suggestions or comments are posted on the site. As a result, ideas that you have suggested might not appear right away, but should appear within the next working day.

This web site allows you to share your own ideas and to discuss or express your support for ideas proposed by others. For further background information about the Central Area Action Plan

See http://www.ideasforbristol.co.uk/pagecontents/about

This consultation will close on Friday 22 October 2010.

A further involvement meeting was held on November 2010 to include options for site allocations and development management (control) policies that should apply to each of the different neighbourhoods of the central area.

The Bristol Urban Design Forum and other NPN member groups also have reservations about the process.
