Bristol Civic Society

Bristol Civic Society is an independent, voluntary organisation and registered charity.

Its purpose is to promote public interest in achieving high quality, Bristol character, sustainable standards and effective involvement in the planning, development and management of the city environment of the city and surrounding urban areas. The Society focuses on finding answers to city-wide issues as well as giving direct assistance to neighbourhood planning groups.

Aims include a city transport strategy to provide effective public transport and reduce the need to use the car; strategic planning that creates sustainable neighbourhoods and a competitive economy; urban design that makes public space as important as commercial space; major development sites that add value to Bristol's unique character and community involvement that gives informed choice.
