Brislington Community Partnership

Brislington Community Partnership is an organisation covering the areas of Brislington, Broomhill, St Anne's, and St Anne's Park, in the southeast of Bristol, UK.

We are made up of residents, interested individuals, members of community groups and representatives from statutory agencies (Bristol City Council's Youth Service, Community Development and Housing, Health and Social Services).

We have been in existence since 1999, and came about as a response to the feeling that areas all around us were attracting urban renewal funds, but we were somehow being overlooked.

We realised that to attract funds into the local area we would need to come together with a common voice, which is what the Partnership has been striving to achieve since its inception. It became obvious that no one was going to wave a magic wand and that hard work would be needed for us to succeed.

The first thing that had to be established was to draw up an action plan. One of the outcomes of that plan has been a community directory listing all the voluntary organisations and services in the Brislington area. It marked a prominent first step forward for local people to stand up, be counted, and take control of our own environment.
